Our Mission
|
The mission of the Nebraska Native Seed and Plant Producers is to protect biodiversity by increasing the use of native plants in both urban and rural landscapes and by the perpetuation of native plants in wild spaces throughout the state.
We will achieve that mission through collaboration with consumers, botanists, native plant enthusiasts, producers, non-profit and for-profit organizations, and government agencies to increase understanding, awareness, and demand for native plants in Nebraska and surrounding areas. Our functional goal is to increase the availability of a more diverse suite of local ecotype species for restorations and landscapes. Local ecotype native plants have evolved with our climate and pollinators, resulting in plants that are tolerant of our varied weather and provide for beneficial native insects. Organizational Goals

Local Ecotype Plants and Seed
The NNSPP wish to emphasize the importance of protecting native pollinators by providing the native habitat with which they have evolved. Local plant and seed sources that are truly native to Nebraska can be hard to find.
Please contact the producers below for information about available plants and seed. Be sure to include your location and planting conditions when making an inquiry. If you wish to have more exact information about seed origin or how plants may respond to your conditions, you may also want to include your ecoregion as defined by the EPA. Level III Ecoregions of Nebraska can be found here. |
